Healthcare is a very big issue and concern and the charity will be giving this full attention in the future, although our other initiatives, such as clean water and an improved diet will help improve this situation.
The two local private health clinics in Kisaabwa which are unable to cope with demand and lack even the basic of medication and equipment. There is a strong reliance on herbal and traditional remedies, that are sourced locally and are often much cheaper. The incidence of malaria, typhoid and aids remains high and there are many health problems associated with poor nutrition. Although families average between 3 -10 children, 95% of children have no grand-parents, 70% have only one parent and 30% have no parents. The nearest hospital is 20k away in Masaka.
